Editorial Screening and Peer Review
All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening. The Editor-in-Chief, the Co-editor, or a member of the Editorial Board may reject a manuscript without external review if it falls outside the journal’s scope or does not meet the minimum scientific, structural, linguistic, or ethical requirements of the journal.
The journal applies a single-blind peer-review model. Reviewers are aware of the authors’ identities, whereas authors do not know the identities of the reviewers. Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers. The final editorial decision is based on the reviewers’ reports, the authors’ revisions where applicable, and the journal’s editorial criteria.
General Requirements for Authors
Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the manuscript, such as photos, documents, datasets, figures, tables, or other third-party content.
All authors identified in the submission must consent to authorship and must have made a relevant contribution to the submitted work. Where appropriate, the research must be approved by a relevant ethics committee in accordance with the legal and institutional requirements of the country in which the study was conducted.
Before submission, authors should ensure that the study design, research objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions are clearly structured and presented. The title should be concise and informative, and the abstract should be able to stand on its own.
Careful preparation of the manuscript will improve the efficiency of editorial assessment and peer review.

Submission Preparation Checklist
Before submission, authors should ensure that:
The manuscript meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
The manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration by another journal.
All authors have approved the submitted version of the manuscript.
All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
All tables and figures have been numbered and labelled correctly.
Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets, figures, tables, and other third-party material included in the submission.
The manuscript follows the journal template and is written in clear academic English.

Biocomposite Materials
This section publishes original research and review papers on biocomposite and bio-based materials for forest industry and engineering design. Topics include lignocellulosic fillers and fibres, bio-adhesives, wood-based panels, hybrid composites, processing technologies, material characterisation, performance properties, and sustainability assessment.
Biocomposite Technologies, Furniture Manufacturing and Design
This section publishes original research and review papers on biocomposite technologies and bio-based or hybrid materials, as well as advanced methods in furniture manufacturing and design. Topics include lignocellulosic fillers and fibres, bio-adhesives and low-emission binders, wood–polymer composites, surface engineering and finishing, digital design and prototyping, process optimisation, product development, testing and characterisation, durability and service-life performance, and sustainability assessment relevant to the forest-based and furniture industries.
Ecology and Circular Economy
This section publishes original research and review papers on environmental assessment, circular economy, resource efficiency, waste valorisation, and sustainability topics related to forest industry, wood processing, and bio-based products. Topics include life cycle assessment, eco-design, emissions, circular business models, and sustainable use of forest-based resources.
Wood Resources and Material Supply
This section publishes original research and review papers on wood resources, raw materials, and supply systems for the forest-based industries. Topics include wood and biomass quality, assortments and grading, resource availability, wood procurement and logistics, traceability, and circular use of secondary raw materials, including recovered wood, recycled fibres, residues, and by-products.
The scope also welcomes studies connected to forest operations and harvesting systems, such as timber extraction, mechanised logging, productivity, environmental impacts, and sustainability aspects, when they are directly linked to material supply, quality, and downstream processing.
