- POSSIBILITIES FOR THE CONSERVATION OF TIMBER, USED IN RESIDENTIAL AND PUBLIC BUILDINGS
The results for the defining of the quantity of the intake substance (intake – P), swelling - shrinkage – the volume anti-swelling effect – ASEv, coefficient of effectivity – Kasev of the treated with conservative means beech timber (Fagus silvatica L.) and Macedonia pine (Pinus peuce Gris.) have been given. The processing of the sample bodies has been carried out in concordance with requirements of the active standards. As conservative means are used impregnator and finish – impregnator, offered by the Italian firm „Atria“.
The results from the research could be used as recommendations in the furniture production, wood assembled houses and constructions in the special productions, as well as from laboratories for testing timber and timber materials, and for preventive control of the quality of the produced timber products.

- INFLUENCE OF THE VENEER QUALITY AND LOAD DIRECTION ON THE STRENGTH PROPERTIES OF BEECH PLYWOOD AS STRUCTURAL MATERIAL FOR FURNITURE
Plywood is a widely used material in the construction of different furniture types. The production of seating furniture – chairs, armchairs, etc., has the highest share. Knowing plywood’s properties is a prerequisite for its efficient use in the industrial production and improvement of the quality of consumer products. The objective of this study is to evaluate the influence of the veneer quality on the density, bending strength and modulus of elasticity of 20-21 mm thick plywood made of beech veneer.
The results showed that the veneer quality does not have an impact on the density, bending strength, and modulus of elasticity. Load direction under bending has a significant influence on the strength and deformation properties.
The results of this study will provide an opportunity for optimization of furniture construction made of beech plywood.

- STUDY ON BENDING STRENGTH OF END CORNER DETACHABLE JOINTS OF STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS MADE OF PLYWOOD
The study presents the results from the research carried out on bending strength of end corner detachable joints of structural elements made of beech veneer plywood. The bending moment under compression bending test has been established. The highest bending strength was achieved with Universal connector and Confirmat 7 x 50 and 7 x 70 mm and the lowest bending strength is typical of joints with bolt and nut and two types of eccentric connectors. It has been established that joints made of beech veneer plywood have higher strength compared to the same type of joints made of beech solid wood.
It is recommended that the comparative data of bending strength are taken into consideration when choosing the type of joints in furniture constructions.
